Girls, there's a good amount of work that goes into raising small humans such as yourselves. And I don't just mean feeding you and bathing you and brushing your teeth and wiping your behinds. What I mean is the work that lives on the periphery of your direct care. Cleaning your clothes. Sorting your artwork. Organizing the articles of clothing you seem to grow out of every other week. Washing the dishes that accumulate after every meal and every snack throughout the day. This work usually occurs while you're at school, or playing independently, or maybe even sleeping at night. Despite the tediousness of it, there's a mindfulness that comes with this type of work, and it's that mindfuless that helps me to step back, take a much-needed breath, and realize precisely how spectacular you both are.
