The Passover Seder is the ritual feast marking the beginning of the Jewish Passover. It consists of multiple generations of a family gathering together to celebrate over wine and symbolic food while retelling the story of the Israelites' liberation from slavery in Egypt.

I was asked by a dear friend to photograph her family's Seder this year. I am not Jewish, so I wasn't entirely sure what a Seder was going to look like, from either a personal or a photographic standpoint. But I followed my instinct and simply sought to capture moments, as I usually do. And I left feeling not only humbled but truly grateful to have been a part of it. Thirty-two people were present, encompassing three generations of the Schwab family. It was remarkable! The love and respect this family has for one another is truly beyond measure.

I'm so thankful to Rachel and Michael for inviting me to capture such a special and symbolic event for their lovely family.
